Window Sun Shades are one of more effective ways for you to keep the ultraviolet rays of the sun out of your home. These types of shades are distinctly different from blinds or curtains and that they are specially made in order to block out the most damaging and bright rays, while allowing lower-level rays in your home. The slave the light that comes in will not be too bright, and you will still be able to see inside your home as well as look outside.
Another thing that makes Window Sun Shades unique is the fact that they can either be inside of your home or outside. You can find styles that we mounted on inside of your windows, and there are those that can be mounted on outside as well. Both are equally effective, and it depends on your personal preference as to which one is best for your home.
These types of shades are traditionally pulled down, as opposed to being flipped or pushed aside like blinds or curtains. Window Sun Shades you pull down to cover your windows, and are similarly pull down to slide back up you want that extra lighting. This makes them easy to use and a minimalistic and unique style choice.
You can find a wide variety of colors — but you will not find very many in different designs. These types of shades tend to be plain because of the fact they are meant to block light out, not so much be a stylish addition to your home. That being said, they are quite stylish and can work with any contemporary or classic home decor.
You can find these types of shades at just about any home improvement or interior design store. They are rather common, though the varieties that are more effective at keeping layout of your home may need to be purchased at specialty stores or websites. While styles can and do keep my out of your home, severed is made of special material that are especially effective — especially for keeping light out but allowing you to see outside as well.
A good way to spruce up your home is to use them along with curtains. One of the shades themselves do a perfectly good job of blocking the sun’s rays from getting into your home, the curtains can add an attractive accent to their minimalistic charms. This is especially good idea if you have a more elaborate decor in your home and do not want to have the coverings on your windows to be plain.
As either a style choice or as something to effectively keep your home lit the way you want to be, Window Sun Shades are very effective. While they were not common in homes 10 to 20 years ago, these days and they are becoming increasingly common and affordable.

Does anyone know if it’s illegal to put the plastic shade in the back window a car? The sun is in my baby’s eyes and I don’t have tint.
or, When I say plastic, I mean the thin see through sheet that you stick to the window.

I just had LASIK eye surgery done, and I’m supposed to wear 100% UV blocking sunglasses when outside. What about if I’m standing in the shade or looking out the window?

I am in Zone 8 (San Antonio, TX). I am researching plants that I can use to act as security / burglar deterrents and can be grown under the windows of my house. On the driveway side I have windows fairly high off the ground but there is very little sun. I prefer something that is drought tolerant but most importantly I want something THORNY that will grow in the shade. Pretty would be nice but painful is most important!
Yes, I have a home security system but I have some REALLY BAD neighbors and if they’re strung out on who knows what I want an extra deterrent. I’m thinking Bougainvillea on the fence and roses along other borders but for the shady areas I’m lost. I’m a "beginner" gardener. I’ve looked at Barberry, Flying Dragon, and pyracantha as options but I don’t know how well they’ll do without much sun. Are there rose varieties that would do well in the shade? Thanks!

My computer desk sits diagonal to a window (the window is at like 2 o’clock from where I’m sitting). I like to have the shades open to let light in…is this bad for my eyes? Especially my right eye since it’s getting more light than the other one. I’m not looking at the sun or anything stupid, but just looking at the computer screen, but light shines sideways into my eyes, esp right one. Serious answers only please…do I need to be concerned? Is there any damage that can be done?

I will have 4- 5ftx5ft roof panels on the greenhouse roof and im making the 2 on the sides ventalation windows that will lift up with a pulley system.
Should i have the roof vents facing the sun or on the shady side?
I thought maybe the sun side because it would vent the heat as it came in, but the shady side might let cooler air in through the back?

I live in a hot climate and need something to block the sun from coming in (so I won’t have to resort to getting an AC). I’m on a tight budget so I can’t afford the ready made solar shades. Do you have ideas on good materials to block the sun? Or are there online tutorials to help me? Thanks for any advice!
